Dave Ashton M.P.S.E. Dialogue Editor · ADR Supervisor
Over 80 feature films and high-end television series, from Silver Bear winners at the Berlinale to some of the biggest box-office titles in Dutch and Flemish cinema.
Hi there, I'm Dave. I'm a freelance Dialogue Editor and ADR Supervisor, originally from the UK but now based in Amsterdam. The Future Sound of Locking is the name I gave to my company here in Holland, having moved here at the end of 2022 after just over 20 years in Belgium.
The name is a reference to the classic 90s electronic band The Future Sound of London, and Locking, the small village in rural Somerset where I grew up. I realised afterwards the irony it implies with the evolution of picture locks and recuts, but that's a different story. I just thought the name sounded cool and it made my mum happy.
Rather than me talking about myself, I'll let the work talk for itself. Below you'll see some projects that I'm currently working on or that are complete and awaiting release, and a few recent highlights. For a curated selection of work check out the credits page, and there's a testimonials page where some Directors, Re-Recording mixers and other sound professionals can tell you about their experiences of working with me.
